During
this phase Phiri was influenced by the Cuban teacher Ulisses, who
was a great admirer of the Surrealistic such as Salvador Dali. This
phase begins at a moment when Phiri has a strong urge to develop
his on style.
Processes In the phase Phiri has
experimented with various processes. He began painting on Paper and
cardboard. The main paint process he used was a brush with acrylic
of very bright colours. Phiri also developed the agurela technique.
